The Whitehaven Community Trust (WCT) is a local charity whose range of projects has continually evolved to meet changing social needs within the community. WCT was originally established in 1990 as The Whitehaven Youth Trust with the aim to educate and support young people with training and development but in 2001 it changed to The Whitehaven Community Trust as it had widened it activities to encompass the needs of the community as a whole.
The Senhouse Centre, a place for healthy living, was opened in May 2000 and now brings in people from the local community each week. Many projects, activities and services linking to health are provided at the centre every week.
